Fertilizer powder mixing and granulation to produce compound fertilizers often use three types of fertilizer granulation equipment: disc fertilizer granulator machine, double roller press fertilizer granulator machine, and rotary drum fertilizer granulator machine. 

In the early production of compound fertilizers, the blending method with simple fertilizer equipment, low investment, and flexible formula was usually used. In practice, researchers have found that there are some problems with compound fertilizers produced by both manual and mechanical equipment. For example, some basic fertilizers cannot be directly blended due to their chemical properties, and secondary separation often occurs during transportation. In order to meet the needs of agricultural production and improve the quality of blended fertilizers, more new technologies have emerged in granulation equipment.

Disc Granulator Fertilizer Machine

Disc granulator fertilizer machine is a fertilizer processing method that mixes and granulates powdered fertilizers. It is often used in small and medium-sized compound fertilizer production plants.

The powdered raw materials are measured and mixed evenly according to the formula ratio. Then they are conveyed to the rotating granulation disk of the disc granulator through the feeding device. The fertilizer granulation equipment adopts wet granulation method, so that the materials rub and rub against each other under the action of centrifugal force, and gradually agglomerate into spherical fertilizer granules. The size of the granules is determined by the inclination rate and speed of the disc. During the granulation process, you can keep track of the operation at any time, and the inclination rate and speed of the disc can be adjusted.

The disc granulator has a wide adaptability, a balling rate of up to 95%, and a small amount of return material.

Double Roller Press Granulator Fertilizer Machine

Double roller press extrusion granulator fertilizer machine is a granulation process that uses pressure to directly extrude powdered raw materials into finished products, using dry granulation.

Selecting appropriate raw materials and preparing the mixture are important factors in producing qualified extruded fertilizers.

Some raw materials can be mixed and extruded once according to their respective characteristics. For example, potassium chloride, ammonium sulfate, and urea have good extrusion granulation properties.  Although calcium phosphate, lime nitrogen, colemanite, and phosphate rock can be extruded, they do not have the same good extrusion performance as the above raw materials. Some fertilizers, such as superphosphate, can be pre-dried or their maturation period is extended to improve their extrusion granulation performance.

The double roller press granulator fertilizer machine can granulate at room temperature without the need for drying machine, saving energy consumption and reducing investment.

Rotary Drum Granulator Fertilizer Machine

Rotary drum granulator fertilizer machine is widely used in the production of compound fertilizer granules.

The rotary drum fertilizer granulation equipment adopts wet granulation, which increases the humidity of the granulated material through steam, so that the granulation process is carried out under the condition of lower moisture content, thereby reducing the drying load. 

The dried granular fertilizer is denser and has higher strength. The temperature of the material at the outlet of the rotary drum granulator is usually controlled at 70~95℃, and the moisture content is 3%~7% (depending on the formula of the compound fertilizer).

Application of fertilizer granulator equipment in fertilizer production line

The fertilizer granulator equipment plays an important role in the fertilizer production line. It is mainly used to make granular fertilizer products from mixed fertilizer raw materials through molding, granulation, pressing and other process steps.
