2. Working Principle

The working principle of the plate and frame filter press is relatively simple. During the filtering operation, the slurry enters the filter chamber from the feed inlet. Under the action of pressure, the liquid in the slurry is discharged from the filtrate port through the filter cloth, while the solids are left in the filter chamber. As the filtering operation proceeds, the solids gradually accumulate at the bottom of the filter chamber to form a filter cake. When the filter cake accumulates to a certain thickness, it can be unloaded from the filter chamber to complete the entire filtering process.

The chamber filter press is mainly used for solid-liquid separation and particle classification of various slurries in industrial production, such as steel, coal, chemical and mineral processing industries.

4. Advantages and Disadvantages

The advantages of the plate and frame filter press are its simple structure, convenient operation, small footprint, low cost and long service life. However, due to its small filtration area, the production capacity of the plate and frame filter press is limited and it is not suitable for large-scale production operations. In addition, due to the use of manual operation, the operation of the plate and frame filter press is not fast and convenient enough.

The advantages of the chamber filter press are its large filtration area, strong production capacity, high degree of automation and large output. This makes the chamber filter press suitable for large-scale production operations. In addition, the chamber filter press also has the characteristics of good sealing performance, energy saving and environmental protection and long service life. However, due to its complex structure, cumbersome operation, difficult maintenance and high cost, its application range is subject to certain restrictions.
